Prilozi se obično porede tako što se ispred njihovog osnovnog oblika dodaju prilozi MORE za komparativ (posle njega dolazi THAN) i MOST za superlativ.
happily – more happily – the most happily
I play football more often than basketball.
Prilozima koji su JEDNOSLOŽNI i prilogu EARLY dodaju se nastavci –ER (za komparativ) i –EST (za superlativ)
early – earlier – earliest
fast – faster – fastest
hard – harder – hardest
late – later – latest
near – nearer – nearest
soon – sooner – soonest
Nepravilno se porede prilozi
badly – worse – worst
far – farther – farthest (prostorno)
further – furthest (prostorno ili u nabrajanju)
little – less – least
much – more – most
well – better – best
